Chrys Peterson Talks Shop

Former Toledo news anchor Chrys Peterson gave a moving presentation to a full house on Thursday, July 24, at the Mad Ave Collective.
Her message of personal branding and professional development was part of the Collective’s monthly Shop Talk series, a forum for established community members to discuss the hows and whys of their successes, both in business and creativity.

Peterson’s message was well received by the many freelance writers, photographers and designers in attendance who were educated on her journey — from a minor news reporter in Virginia to the successful Toledo news anchor and beloved community member she is today.
Her presentation stressed the elements of building personal and professional relationships, and she touched on the importance of social media etiquette, authenticity and character development.

“As a news anchor, I was invited into your homes every night,” she said. “And when you build a personal brand, you have to make it recognizable, consistent, and authentic.”
Catering was provided by Manos’ Greek Restaurant and All Crumbs Artisan Bakery.

The Mad Ave Collective is located at 1600 Madison Avenue in UpTown Toledo. For information on future Shop Talk sessions and guest panels, visit madavecollective.com, follow @MadAveCollect on Twitter or call (419) 472-9000 for details.
